Common questions
What happens if I broker without the bond?
It is a misdemeanor with a fine of up to $5,000. In a carrier's lawsuit, a broker without a bond is presumed to have failed to pay.
Who do I show the bond to?
Each year, before work starts, you must give proof of the bond to anyone who hires you and to every carrier you hire. You must also give it to a nonprofit that publishes a bonded-broker list or post it on your website.
