Common questions
How is the bond amount set?
It varies. In Texas, the Lottery Commission sets it based on prize fees owed, capped at three times the average quarterly amount due.
Can I post cash instead?
Some states accept cash, certificates of deposit, or other security in place of a surety bond. Texas allows several alternatives.
